Annakaren has over 5 years of experience with youth development and organizing efforts around environmental justice initiatives. She has led youth programming with Pacoima Beautiful and the National Forest Service on forest ecology and conservation in the Angeles National Forest. Her organizing work includes mobilizing community members in Bayview Hunters Point to hold government agencies accountable for unjust policies and practices that have impacted their right to a clean and healthy environment. She received her BS in Conservation and Resource Studies with a minor in Global Poverty and Practice from UC Berkeley where, she worked to diversify the College of Natural Resources through her involvement in the Students of Color Environmental Collective.
