About the Event
Wildfire is an inherent part of life in Southern California. Learn how garden design and maintenance can help protect homes in high-risk fire areas. This program will introduce you to the basics of wildfire in southern California through the lens of California native plants and offer easy actions you can take to create and maintain a beautiful landscape that is both resilient and habitat rich.
Meet the Trainer: Erin Johnson manages wildfire grants and programs as well as outreach for the Theodore Payne Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the understanding, preservation, and use of California native wildflowers and plants. Before joining the Foundation, Erin led local event operations at Atlas Obscura and worked in the field of audience research and evaluation at Wildlife Conservation Society. She is an avid gardener, hiker, and bird watcher.
