About the Event

To better prepare for our trip, we are asking participants to take 5-10 mins to read the following information.

Meet up location: Main Parking Lot at Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1245 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, at 8:30am

Community Nature Connection will check-in registered participants and have Wavier & Photo Release Form to complete prior to boarding the bus. The hike is a 3 mile rountrip loop trail with a 833ft elevation and will take about 3 hours to complete (we will be going at a slow pace and take breaks often). About 1.3 miles from the trailhead, we that will also pass by a scenic waterfall. After finishing the hike, we will conclude the day with an art activity where we will reflect on the past year and set new intentions for 2024.

The average temperature at Temescal Gateway Park during this time of the year is approximately 65° during the day (subject to change), so layer up with thin breathable layers that can easily be removed or added (think layers like in onions!). We will spend 8:30am- 4:00am (about 8 hours) together, so make sure to bring enough water, snacks, a backpack to carry your belongings, a sweater to use once temperatures lower, sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc), comfortable shoes for hiking, and a curiosity for nature.

This programming is FREE and family-friendly, however, please note that this trail is not stroller accessible.

COVID POLICY: Masks are required at all times while indoors or on the bus. Masks are encouraged at all times during the program.

If you need any access needs (ways that we can help you have a safe and enjoyable experience) or need to communicate with CNC staff about our Transit to Trails, please reach out to our Program Coordinator, Kya at  kya@communitynatureconnection.org AND ttt@communitynatureconnection.org.

Please familiarize yourself with the following:
