About the Event

Meet us at Vista Hermosa Natural Park, where CNC staff will check in participants. We will board a bus, where we will cruise through the mountains and arrive to Satwiwa Cultural Center. We will be able to learn a little bit about the history of the park and experience nature through mindful observations with a nature journaling activity.

You will have the option to either join a hike to the Lower Satwiwa Loop (approximately 2 mile with some inclines and steps) or explore the native plants that reside near the cultural center. Make sure to bring shoes that are comfortable, a nice filling lunch, and enough water for the day! We expect for the day to be hot, so layer up!

We will have the opportunity to do some nature journaling, so feel free to bring a used or new journal, if you don’t have a journal we will be providing materials to participate.

As a reminder, we will spend 9am-5pm (8 hours) together so make sure you bring enough water, a nice filling lunch, and curiosity for the outdoors. Please make sure to arrive on time (early), so that we can get to Satwiwa Cultural Center and follow our schedule accordingly. The bus will not be able to wait, so make sure to get there on time.

When registering for this event: please make sure to add your correct email and phone number so that you can receive more details of what to expect on our trip, and if we need to further contact you about any program changes.

Please note: The hike will consist of an incline with occasionally switching to flat surface, so please make sure to bring comfortable shoes that you are okay with being in. Most of this trail is exposed to sun, so bring proper layers and protection. In general, please dress in layers since we are expecting it to be hot in May.

If you need any accommodations or need to communicate anything in particular to keep in mind on our Transit to Trails, please reach out to our Program Coordinator Zee Zetino, zee@communitynatureconnection.org .
